They play a fusion of  Bhangra and Reggae. The band definitely knew how to keep the crowd entertained..  They also introduced another band “The Afromotive” as their opening act. I thought that this band had great talent. I rarely buy music.. but was so impressed by the talent of both the bands that I bought their CDs on the spot. I forgot to take my camera with me.. but this video kinds shows how fun the band was

And the best part of it? The percussionists did an improve of Boney M‘s “Rivers of Babylon” to close the concert. To say the least… I was stoked!! :-) .

If you get a chance.. definitely check them out.

And I forgot how much I loved these songs :) .. Esp this one (http://kudithipudi.org/patalau/Yamudiki_Mogudu_Andam_Hindolam.mp3) from the movie Yamudiki Mogudu.. I guess I was in middle school then.  And this was the kool aid we used to drink :) .

What can I say.. I love disco :-) .. and I am not ashamed to say it..

I wish I can find the video for this song. Chiru was cool in those days :) .

Sri found the video for this song on youtube.. the quality is not good.. but you can enjoy the tight pants and shiny shoes :)

Even if you don’t know who Chiranjeevi is and what telugu is. Go ahead, download the song and listen to it. The music is discolicious :) .

Not only in coming up with original content, but also with copying :) .. Back in the 70s and 80s, it was pretty norm, for most of the tunes to be copied from western tunes. I am in no way stating that all the content is copied, but quite a bit of it was. Starting from the movie plots, to the music in the songs. Here’s a good example (although the copy sounds a lot better to me :) ).
